Announcements for 3/2/2025
SUNDAY, MARCH 2nd – Worship Committee meeting in Dudde Hall with Pastor Kelly and the Altar Guild, for everyone interested in joining the committee, and lunch will be provided. It will be an opportunity to learn how you can use your creativity and to share your vision, as you work with Pastor and the Altar Guild to create a thoughtful worship space throughout the church year.
ASH WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th at 7pm – please join us, here at St. Paul’s for our Service of Confession and Repentance with imposition of ashes. All are invited.

THURSDAY, MARCH 13th at 10am – The funeral service, for our life-long member Norma White, will be held hear at St. Paul’s with a reception to follow in Dudde Hall. At that time, her family will be available to greet you.

FEBRUARY is SOUPER BOWL MONTH – We will be collecting canned soup throughout the month for our local food pantry. Please place your donations in the bin near the Information table.

MAPLE SYRUP FUNDRAISER - NOW UNTIL MARCH 2ND. Sourced through SUNY ESF at Heiberg Memorial Forest in Tully, NY. Maple Syrup Fundraiser
Order locally sourced, fresh maple syrup. This maple syrup is sourced through SUNY ESF at Heiberg Memorial Forest in Tully, NY. You can order either at the information table on Sundays, from a congregation member directly, or online using the link below.

We are collecting new, twin size bedding for “Sleep in Heavenly Peace”, which provides beds for children. You can drop off bedding at the church.

This year’s meal is in memory of Rita Newton, a special and guiding presence for this meal since she brought it back to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in 2006. Rita passed away earlier this year.
A portion of the proceeds from this dinner will be donated to the St. Paul’s Memorial Fund in Rita’s memory.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 - GOD’S WORK, OUR HANDS - Now everyone colors! The Crayon Initiative (www.thecrayoninitiative.org) collects used crayons of all shapes and sizes for children in the hospital. Their mission is to decrease crayon waste in landfills and increase the happiness of sick children. There is a box across from the office until September 8 for you to donate new and used crayons from around your house!

ROOF REPAIR – On 6/16/24, St. Paul’s congregation approved the expenditure of a roofing replacement project which should be completed this month (weather dependent). At the meeting, we announced that donations designated specifically for this project would be accepted until 7/28/24. Any funds received, in excess of the project cost and after 7/28 will revert to the general Property Fund. If making donations, please clearly mark your check as “Roof Repairs”.
ELCA World Hunger - donations will continue through July using the envelopes in the pews, add ELCA World Hunger on the memo line of you check or marked on an envelope with cash, marked ELCA World Hunger and your name.

WANTED ACOLYTES – We are in need of acolytes starting in September! If you are an adult who would like to have a chance to be an acolyte again, or would love to learn how to be a part of the service, please see Sandy will train you in the current protocol. This is open to anyone over the age of 14. We look forward to seeing new faces!

Saturday 3/23/24: Bishop Grimes Jr/Sr High will hold its Annual Academic Games event. Blessings in a Backpack has been chosen as the charity to benefit from this event. The admission to the event is a food item that is included each week in the backpacks (soups, microwavable mac & cheese, Chef Boyardee, fruit & grain breakfast bars without nuts, etc.)

St. Paul’s Sunday School students will be holding a Souper Bowl Sunday Canned Soup Drive to support the local Food Bank, through February 11th . The container to collect soup cans will be available in the foyer for your convenience.
